How it works

Clarity first. Then we build.

Off Script does more than diagnose a problem and hand over recommendations.

The approach

“First we create clarity. Then we work out what to fix, what to build and how to make it repeatable inside the business. Eventually, we step back. You own it, and Off Script is there when you need another set of eyes, extra firepower or help with whatever comes next.” Jarrod Myers

Diagnose

Spend a little of the investment working out where the rest of it should go.

Diagnose what’s actually going on.

We get underneath the numbers, pipeline, buyer personas, channel relationships, evidence base, offers, value propositions, revenue system and sales process to understand how the business really wins work today.

That means talking to founders, sellers, delivery people, customers and partners, reviewing what you’ve sold before, and separating assumptions from evidence.

This can include

  • Founder and leadership conversations
  • Financial, pipeline and sales review
  • Won and lost work
  • Offers, pricing and proposals
  • Delivery model and partner relationships
  • Customer evidence and market risk

A check on the model, not just the engine. There is no point building a better growth engine for yesterday’s business model. Where relevant, diagnosis includes how AI, changing technology, channels and customer behaviour could affect what the business is about to scale.

“It’s rarely one massive crack that causes the problem. It’s a bunch of smaller ones, all running through the same commercial foundation.” Jarrod Myers

Build

Turn what we learn into the things your team actually needs to sell.

Build the commercial foundations.

We turn what we learn into the things your team actually needs to sell. Your ideal buyer situations. Offers. Positioning. Pricing. Stories. Sales messaging. Qualification. Proposals. Partner motions. The way you explain what you do and why someone should buy it.

“Your best projects are already telling you what you should sell next. Most businesses just aren’t listening.” Jarrod Myers

What you sell

  • Positioning
  • Value propositions
  • New offers and practices
  • Evidence and proof

How you sell it

  • Sales messaging
  • Pitches and proposals
  • Qualification
  • Deal strategy

How the commercial model works

  • Pricing and commercial models
  • Profitability
  • Delivery models
  • Recurring revenue

Where growth comes from

  • Ideal buyer situations
  • Market and vertical strategy
  • Partner motions
  • New revenue streams
Make it repeatable

Enough structure that people know what good looks like, without a sales bureaucracy.

Make how you sell repeatable.

The same work should not have to be reinvented for every deal, or live in one person’s head.

What that covers

  • Clear buyer journeys and sales stages
  • Discovery and deal reviews
  • Account planning
  • CRM structure and playbooks
  • Coaching, roles and expectations

Enough structure that people know what good looks like without turning the place into a giant sales bureaucracy.

Scale and sustain

Put the foundations into practice, then keep them working.

Illustration of two people walking and talking together on a street

Help you scale it, and keep it working.

Once the foundations are there, we help you put them into practice and keep them working as the business changes.

That might mean

  • Working alongside the founder
  • Coaching sellers
  • Helping recruit and onboard people
  • Building partner motions and improving live deals
  • Commercial reviews, and refining the system as things change

The goal is simple: build a commercial system that works beyond the founder, without losing what made the business good in the first place.

Own it

The end goal is for the capability to live inside the business, not with us.

Then it is yours.

We document what works, coach the people taking it on, help embed the routines and hand over the tools, thinking and operating rhythm, so you’re not dependent on us forever.

What moves across

  • Playbooks and templates
  • Onboarding and training
  • Commercial rhythms and routines
  • Decision frameworks
  • Ownership
Enterprise deal support

Bringing our art to your science.

When a big deal deserves more than a solution.

Great technical teams lose enterprise deals because no one owns the buyer narrative, client and partner dynamics are mishandled, and at the end of a long deal cycle, they lack a fresh perspective.

Off Script becomes your deal partner, bringing experienced eyes, ears and hands. We bridge the gap between a solid solution or proposal and a compelling executive narrative, so your hard work in discovery and design has the best chance of success.

What that looks like

  • Deal strategy and decision-maker narrative
  • Pitch and proposal review
  • Partner and stakeholder dynamics
  • Commercial coaching
  • Experienced eyes before an important moment

Deal support can be structured as a defined block of support across an agreed opportunity or set of opportunities.

“I can confidently say Jarrod is the best value seller I’ve ever worked with. His ability to truly understand what a customer needs, translate that into clear business requirements, and create deals that genuinely work for everyone is next-level.”
Chris BockeyCEO & Salesforce Solution Architect, Novation

“Within a few hours of our first deal review, Jarrod understood me, my business, the client and their challenges, the solution I’d recommended, and the challenges involved in winning it. Most importantly though, he saw the gaps in my pitch and proposal and knew how to address them.

It was a great example of the magic that happens when a great commercial mind and strong technical expertise come together.”

How we think

Three rules for making the next decision.

01

Evidence before opinion

Start with what the business has already proven. Look at customers, deals, losses, financials, delivery experience and what the market is actually telling us before deciding what to change.

02

Build before hiring

Hiring another salesperson won’t fix a business that hasn’t worked out how it sells. Good salespeople amplify good systems; they shouldn’t be hired to invent one.

03

Design for repeatability

Growth shouldn’t depend on founder relationships, individual heroics or knowledge that lives in one person’s head.

Should we work together?
